Traffic was a little crazy, and we had to take the scwnic route home, but driving north far enough to experience totality? So very worth it. If you ever get the chance to experoence a total solar eclipse? Do! I helped with the kids hockey practice last week. Most of the kids were way better than me. I really need to learn how to skate backwards.
Pretty, but...unfortunately the sky was this red because of the powerline wildfire. Currently at 50thousand some acres, but thankfully getting more contained. I about cried last night when we got a storm and it smelled like rain instead of smoke. (it was pretty miserable on Sunday.) So much gratitude for the brave and dedicated folk who fight these fires.
A few months ago, I was at a party. My friend had his daughter there. She wrote me a story. It's still in a place of honor on my fridge.
