Making a Splash!

We had to go to Dierke's Lake for a swim when we visited my folks!  (My sister and her kids who live waaaaaaay across the country were also visiting) I was hoping to catch my dad jumping off the diving board, but alas, I only got his splash.  

I didn't bring a swimming suit, but had a lovely time paddling around in one of the kayaks they had for rent.  SO much fun, I may be a little bit hooked on it now.  (I promptly looked up where we could rent kayaks for an afternoon on the river when we got home.)

And yes, see those kids climbing over on the rocks?  They do jump off of them into the water, yes they do.  I was always too chicken to try it, but both of my nephews had done it by the time the day was done! I think they inherited some of my sister's dare-devil spirit.  (She grew up doing gymnastics, and always seemed pretty fearless to me. )
