Went to my friend's voice recital on Saturday. It was lovely to hear him sing! My talented friends make me so happy!
I was told they used a different kind of snow melt stuff than usual on the campus. The result was some pretty cool patterns on some of the stairs. It was cold, but the sunshine today was nice.
A rousing game of Blokus for the afternoon! :) I was rather out of practice, I remembered that I like playing this game but not exactly how to play. (It's a little bit like non-digital Tetris, but not quite. If you like playing Tetris, you will probably like this game.) I did okay when there was only three of us playing, but got rather roundly whomped when my sweetie came home and there were four of us on the board!
We got to have a really not all that much fun adventure... Wheeee! Load up the car! To the laundromat we go! Hey, at least we managed to find enough quarters that we had some extra for the arcade games, right!? And I managed to win at PRIMAL RAGE! (a.k.a. The fightin' dinosaur game) Once. And then my son figured out the controls. And I got my butt kicked. My entire strategy consists of THE BUTTONS, I WILL MASH THEM!!! Hooray! Baskets of fresh, clean laundry! (It is kind of nice to be able to get LOTS of laundry done at once, I guess.) The washing machine has since been fixed, and I am reminded that I am lucky to have the convenience of a washer and dryer in my house!
Driftwood bear sculpture! Can't wait until the zoo opens up again when the warmer weather comes in April!
Doesn't make that much of a difference for us, what with homeschooling and all, but a snow day for the public schools does mean that my son can go play in the snow with his cousin at grandma's house! They were trying (With varying degrees of success) to get the pups to pull them on the sled. Have I mentioned that it finally decided to start looking like Winter around here? Got my son some boots, and so he had to play in the snow as soon as we got home!
But they certainly make a tasty breakfast! A Sunday morning institution in my hometown, we introduced my kids to it this weekend. MMM....delicious!
My oldest greatly enjoyed his birthday breakfast of biscuits and gravy, despite the bison/buffalo thing. His zoo volunteer training means he knows that Bison is actually the proper nomenclature! :) Did you know the scientific name for bison is Bison Bison? I have learned so much about animals since my oldest started his zoo volunteer work! |
